4 Signs It’s Time to Upgrade Your Bathroom

The bathroom is all too often the most overlooked room in the house. The lounge and the kitchen and the bedrooms are all redecorated and refurnished on a regular basis, but often we pay little regard to one of the most important rooms in the house. The bathroom is the room we all use every day, so it should be highly functional but that doesn’t mean it cannot also be highly stylish. The bathroom is the ideal place to stamp your own personal style on the space. Do you recognise any of the following scenarios that show you it’s time for a bathroom switch-over?

  1. Your Bathroom is Too Big/Small/Inaccessible

Needs change over time. If your family has grown you may need extra room in the bathroom. You may want an ensuite as well as a family bathroom. Or you may have family members with reduced mobility who would benefit from adapted showers and easier access to the bath. It is a sure sign that your bathroom is not working for you when it doesn’t suit its purpose and is difficult to use.

  1. It Looks Old-Fashioned

You may not have any problems with the overall layout of the bathroom, but instead simply think it looks tired or dated, which is a good enough reason to get a bathroom makeover. You have many options when it comes to making a bathroom look more modern. You could simply repaint and redo the cosmetic details of the room or you could install a more modern shower or bath, and add small touches that present a more streamlined, fancier look to the room.

  1. The Layout is Bad

Are you always annoyed that you bump your knees on the sink when you sit on the toilet? Is the shower difficult to access? Many bathrooms have not been very well-designed. Improving the layout of the bathroom can make the room look instantly better. If you have a small bathroom don’t worry, there are still changes you can make to get a better layout. Shower cabins, for example, come in all shapes and sizes to fit into tight corners. Using the space more effectively can actually mean it looks like you have more room overall.

  1. It’s Not Working

How many people put up with a leaking shower or a toilet that doesn’t flush properly? If you have tried to repair things in the bathroom but they are still not working well, it could be time for completely new bathroom furniture. It is a much better feeling when you can enjoy your bathroom without having to worry about things going wrong all the time.
